Local Food::

Me and My husband have both been back to Carmens since the changeover in management.

The first time we sat there about 10 minutes before we even got menus, the second time we tried breakfast and the service was slow and what they tried to pass off as a biscuit was more like a hard piece of dough.

The third time I went with my mother and the service again was slow, same waitress as the first time we went. The final time and probably the last time for awhile was a take out order and that was fine, although it was just chicken fingers.

It is sad because this restaurant is so close to home but I think I'll be traveling to Exeter or Kensington for my next breakfast.

Local Stuff::

I am so disappointed in this town and its selectmen (or so called selectmen) I'd like to know who SELECTED them! this whole trash deal is insane!!!! one barrell per family!! and some neighborhoods no barrells!

Why didn't we get a voice on this matter, it's our money being spent with no tax relief for less trash being taken. maybe we should give all our extra left over trash to our mighty SELECTMEN! and if you plan to give them a call on this matter, then the all powered selectmen run and hide and let their guard dog at the front desk answer their calls... with no return call.

I am planning a neighborhood by neighborhood petition. lets get this matter addressed!! let's show them we want a voice, we want change! do you want to help, or maybe know someone in your neighborhood who can speak out for you? let's get band together east kingston!!!

Most of us busy residents of a given town, city, village et al. rarely pause to glimpse at the world in our backyards.

Now with Bob Berthel's website some of us might take a peek of the view of Pow Wow River Pond from his backyard, which provides several great views.

He has set up webcams both above ground and underwater to give us an opportunity to get zen if not necessarily in our own backyards but perhaps his. His site also links to other fun cams around the state.

Local Food::

Just to add to the list....we returned to carmen's for dinner last week, and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the swordfish.

It was an excellent meal...served promptly. Breakfast this morning was also excellent. The omlette was well prepared and served promptly... good food, good prices, great wait staff, and close by...what more could you ask for???

For those of you who had a negative experience the last time you went to carmen's...you owe it to yourself to give it another try... it will be great to have a successful business again at that site.
